Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) has once again proficiently completed an accreditation visit to all pathology departments by the National Post Graduate Medical College of Nigeria, Faculty of Pathology, on Friday 5 July 2024. The departments visited included Haematology and Blood Transfusion, Chemical Pathology, Anatomical Pathology, and Medical Microbiology.
The accreditation team was led by the esteemed Prof. Olusegun Ojo, whose expertise and leadership were pivotal in the thorough evaluation process. The visit aimed to ensure that the departments meet the high standards required for quality medical education and healthcare delivery.
Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor, the Chief Medical Director of RSUTH, warmly welcomed the accreditation team and highlighted the state of the art facilities found in the landmark pathology building. In his address, he expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara GSSRS, for his unwavering support and substantial investments in the hospital’s infrastructure and manpower development. These investments have been crucial in enabling RSUTH to provide high-quality healthcare services to the community.
